During the International Photography Symposium, Rokas Pralgauskas will present a book of drawings, sketches, photographs and poetry „Radiniai, sidabro dulkės ir kitos gėlės“ ("Findings, Silver Dust and Other Flowers") that he published in 2019. According to the author, he “will share very practical, dry and technical information about the books found among the cabbage leaves, which the stork distributes to people‘s homes. Therefore, the "family-friendly" environment that is being built invites everyone, small and big ones; especially newcomers, those with a lack of courage and experience are especially welcome, so be prepared to ask questions."
Rokas Pralgauskas (b. 1984) is a multidisciplinary artist and curator living and working in Lithuania. Since 2004, he has organized and participated in exhibitions, artists' presentations, poetry readings and book fairs in Lithuania and other countries. In his own work, he often uses mixtures of photographs, drawings, paintings, texts, compounds, derivatives, their different formats, stylistics and genres. Pralgauskas' various and, at first glance, unrelated projects still connect to each other by subtle humor of absurdity, existential emptiness, and romanticist chaos. His art is characteristic of a certain aesthetics created in processing drafts, sketches, failed shots, diaries, findings, negatives, objects and other leftover parts. The artist, who is not afraid to experiment with images and text, published his first comic book in 2006: "ro-ko-ko-miksai" include photographic collages that accompany a fictional detective story. Recently, Pralgauskas has been working on the exhibition that he curates, "audi vorsprung durch technik", and the individual photography project "zodiac signs".
