Over the course of its long history, the Lithuanian Photographers’ Association has accumulated a valuable and one of the largest photography collections in Lithuania, which since 2019 has been intensively digitized, catalogued, and made publicly accessible.
Within the project “Public Dissemination of Works from the Archive of the Lithuanian Photographers’ Association and Increasing the Accessibility of Photography,” partially funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture under the Copyright and Related Rights Protection Programme, by 2025 a total of 55 authors from the Association’s archive, more than 16,000 of their works, and 336 posters preserved in the archive have been made public. The photographs are published under InC and CC BY-NC-ND licensing agreements. Existing copyright and related rights remain in force as defined by applicable law; therefore, the use of images for any commercial or non-commercial purposes is not permitted without prior permission, and any intended use must be coordinated with the Lithuanian Photographers’ Association and the author or their rights holder.
Currently, more than 16,000 photographs are available for viewing. They can be accessed via the Lithuanian Photographers’ Association’s account on limis.lt.
