The main objectives of the Lithuanian Photographers Association are to promote and protect free artistic expression, its diversity and distinctiveness, to defend the creative, social, copyright, related and generally recognised human rights of its members in accordance with the law, to mobilise and encourage professional photographers and art historians, and to take care of the creative heritage of photography.

To achieve these goals, the LPA organises conferences, seminars, thematic exhibitions, and competitions, and engages in publishing activities and active distribution of publications in Lithuania and abroad. The association disseminates information about the creative activities of the members of the association, cooperates with partners in Lithuania and abroad, and supports photographers' creative initiatives and explorations financially and in other possible ways.
