The Lithuanian Photographers Association currently has ∼300 members and is a union of art creators, and only persons with the status of art creator may become its members.
Holders of this status are entitled to state grants and awards to encourage creative activity and are eligible for support for artists on low and irregular incomes, and during periods of creative inactivity. Support for artists is provided by the Social Protection of Artists Programme.
Persons holding the status of art creator are eligible to be beneficiaries and can receive financial support in the form of a contribution of up to 1.2 percent of the amount of income tax payable by the individual based on their annual income tax return. A member of the LPA gains the right to participate in the management of the association, to exhibit their work in LPA galleries on a priority basis, to participate in the international photography seminar NIDA free of charge, and to receive information intended for the community of photographers.
