Greenhouse of One's Own: Some Insights into the Exhibition

Until August 30, 2020, the exhibition The Muse of the Greenhouse was held at the Kaunas Photography Gallery in an immersive installation featuring the works of Irena Giedraitienė (Lithuania), Clare Gallagher (Northern Ireland), Jaana Kokko (Finland) and Elīna Brasliņa (Latvia). The exhibition's conceptual framework is built around the notion of the greenhouse, embracing its multiple social, political and economic meanings. The Muse of the Greenhouse is part of the international project Woman's Work, led by Fotogallery and funded through Creative Europe. In the presentation, the curator Jana Kukaine (Latvia) will share some moments of experience, contemplation and discovery.

Jana Kukaine (1983) is a feminist scholar and art curator from Riga, Latvia. She teaches feminist theory and aesthetics at the Art Academy of Latvia.
