Projection evening "Savistaba / Self-Reflection"
September 6th, 9.00 p.m.
Zuikio daržas  (Nidos-Smiltynės pl. 7a)

International Photography Symposium NIDA 2018 ran it's first ever open call for works on the theme of Self Reflection. The open call was run in partnership with PICTER photography platform. Twenty eight selected photographic and video works will form the basis of the projection evening on the 6th of September in Nida during the symposium. The organizers were pleased with the diverse reading of the topic, from personal and familial narratives, stories of nations and communities, to reflections on humanity and reinterpretations of the photographic medium itself. Amongst the selected are works combining still and moving image, collage, appropriated imagery and computer graphics.

The jury members Vilma Samulionytė (Lithuanian Photographers Association, International Photography Symposium NIDA), Gintarė Krasuckaitė (Kaunas Photography Gallery) and Kotryna Ūla Kiliulytė (independent artist, projection evening curator), have selected two winners that each received the exact same amount of votes: Maria Kapajeva (Estonia, UK) and Alba Zari (Italy, UK).

Both artists were invited to take part in the symposium. They will present their practice in artist talks as part of NIDA 2018 symposium.
