Organised Recreation: Considering the importance of traditional social spaces
This talk will highlight Alishia’s photographic practice, which is an archive of traditional social spaces around Europe. She will discuss the importance of preserving these places for future generations, highlighting similarities in spaces around Europe through her own photographs.
Alishia Farnan, b. 1992, is a photographer based in Scotland who works with architecture, mostly social. Her images are a part of one singular and continuous archival project. She is currently working on a project in Lithuania, with funding through the Kaunas Photography Gallery and Streetlevel Photoworks, Glasgow. She studied Fine Art Photography at The Glasgow School of Art. Her work has been exhibited around the world, including Scotland, England, Ukraine, Germany, and America.
