VISVALDAS MORKEVIČIUS (b. 1990) is the artist who is using medium of photography as a research platform for portrait in very broad sense of it. In his own terms he is “collecting realities” while watching every day surrounding, choices and activities of his chosen subjects. Using self-analysis he is searching for new self-portrait opportunities. By using Low-Fi and Hi-fi aesthetics and working with materials from classical analogy photography to modern digital tools he is manipulating the feeling of time and its perception.
Work by Morkevičius was exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Europe. They are in collections of MO Museum, Lewben Art Foundation and SEB Bank Art Collection.
