We’re a collaboration of two artists. Dalia Mikonytė is an artist and researcher, member of the groups Coolturistės, LTMKS (Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists' Association), Lithuanian Photographers Association. Adomas Žudys mostly works with 3D graphics and design, video, street art projects, stencils. Together, we create inside the mediums of photography, video art, 3D graphics and text. Our works link classical forms of art expression with new discoveries in technology and science. While exploring different variations of perception and recognition, we’re interested in the ties between materiality, technology, and identity. Our subjects are: intimate and public spaces, moments of time, personal and group experiences, interpretations of identity, signs, reality, actual and virtual existence. We look for inspiration in fields like history, contemporary art and scenarios of the future, basing our work on theory, practice and sentiments. “Miesto studijos” [“City studies”]

Since 2016, we have been working on a long-term project “Miesto studijos”, which uses photogrammetry to scan Lithuanian and European cities. We’ve already scanned Vilnius, Kaunas, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Klaipėda, Nergina and the Curonian Spit, Carrara in Italy, and Cesis in Latvia. The project is entirely based on photogrammetry, a relatively old yet niche technique of photography. This is a photographic method to scan a static object by doing a selection of photos and having computer technology to create a virtual 3D object. Following these measurements of photographic images, the form, size, position of various objects on the planet’s surface are being examined. Photogrammetry is used when creating plans and maps. The final result of this project is a video clip that introduces a virtual, surrealistic tour of the city, where all things old, new, traditional and digital are intertwined. This is a way to take another look at the existing architectural, sculptural and nature’s monuments of the city in order to create a new, dynamic perspective of the urban area.
