2018 07 12 - 2018 08 18 / "Prospekto" Gallery (Gedimino Ave 43, Vilnius)

"Debut" - photography competition of debuting authors, in which the jury selects ten participant of the exhibition, and three of them are being announced the winners. This year the competition was international. The opening of the exhibition "Debut 2018" took place on 12th of July in "Prospekto" gallery, and the winners were announced - Claudia Corrent, Ewa Doroszenko, Artūras Jendovickis.

Gabrielė Vinraitė got a special prize by portal 15min.lt - an exeptional interview with her will be placed in the portal.

During the opening the catalogue of the exhibition was introduced (designer Gytis Skudžinskas), it is possible to buy it in "Prospekto" gallery.

First time such young photographers exhibition was held in 1976. Virgilijus Šonta, Romualdas Požerskis, Vytautas Balčytis, Raimondas Paknys, Violeta Bubelytė, Algirdas Šeškus, Gintautas Trimakas, Vytautas Stanionis, Aleksandras Ostašenkovas, Alfonsas Budvytis, Alvydas Lukys and others started their carier as photographers there. In years 1975-1988 there were seven exhibitions organized. In 2010 the idea was renewed and from the last time the competition became international.

This year we had 342 participants from 53 countries and there were 3768 works submitted. The members of selection jury were: Lina Albrikienė, Gintaras Česonis, Eglė Deltuvaitė, Alvydas Lukys, Aurelija Maknytė, Agnė Narušytė, Romualdas Požerskis, Vilma Samulionytė, Gytis Skudžinskas, Lina Zaveckytė.

After long discussions there were selected exhibition participants: Tobias Asser, Matylda Awdziejczyk, Claudia Corrent, Ewa Doroszenko, Albina Galeeva, Artūras Jendovickis, Sheng-Wen Lo, Ines Marinho, Emilija Petrauskienė, Gabrielė Vingraitė, Luana Rigolli.

In the day of the exhibition opening there will be first three announced, who will have a chance to open exhibition next year (2019) in Vilnius photography gallery (Stiklių g. 4).

The media partner of the contest 15min.lt will announce its own winner, who will have extended interview published in a portal. Other participants will have their photos shown in their culture section.
