Goals:
- Popularize photography as an art genre.
- Display the complexity of a child’s world through photography, and by doing so – increase the level of social sensitivity as to creating proper conditions for personality development in all children.
- Support organizations which act on behalf of children and to ensure special protection to most deeply hurt children – victims of wars, disasters, poverty, violence and abuse, and to disabled children.

CONTEST REGULATIONS

1. The child and their world are a theme of the contest. It is expressed by way of photography, and full freedom of interpretation is allowed. No photo may violate child’s dignity and their right for privacy.
2. The contest is addressed at any individuals who take photographs.
3. Any style of work is allowed, digital photos or paper prints are acceptable.
4. Each contestant may submit maximum 3 photos.
A set (i.e. 3 photos) will be treated as a used limit of 3 single works.
5. A photo print in the format: minimum of 18x24, maximum of 30x40,  not affixed, signed (full name, address, phone number, email address) should be submitted to the Provincial Public Library and Culture Animation Center in Poznań.) in Poznań, (address:WBPiCAK   ul. Prusa 3   60-819 Poznań  Poland), no later than by 2 May 2008.
6. Printed photos submitted for the contest are subject to organizers’ participation fee of PLN20.00 (domestic postage) or EUR10 (international postage). In return, the contestant will receive a catalog and photos which did not qualify for the exhibition (the participation fee covers cost of postage.) The payment must be made to the Provincial Public Library and Culture Animation Center in Poznań account, no.89 1500 1621 1216 2000 8820 0000 (purpose of payment: Child.)
7. Digital photos must be submitted as files (in JPG 72 DPI format.) A file name should contain the following items: contestant’s last name and a photo serial number (e.g. kowalski1, kowalski2, etc.) together with an application slip (the file name containing the application slip should mention the contestant’s last name.) to the following address: foto@wbp.poznan.pl no later than by 31 March 2008. Photos sent by e-mail will undergo selection by 9 independent experts in the period of 1-5 April. A cumulative verdict of the jury will qualify photos for stage 2. Authors of works which have been qualified for stage 2 will be informed of the verdict, and by the same, obliged to supply selected photos in the print form (in the format: 20x30 minimum, 30x45 maximum.) Prints signed as specified in point 4 should be supplied to the organizer by 2 May 2008. If prints fail to be submitted, the organizer may print them at its own discretion, and by doing so - limit the contestant’s right to contribute to the final appearance of the work.
8. Submission of photos in the digital form is not subject to a fee. Contestants whose photos did not qualify for the exhibition will receive a catalog upon order and after the payment of the participation fee, i.e. PLN 20 or EUR10. The order should be forwarded to the following address: foto@wbp.poznan.pl; whereas payments should be made to the Provincial Public Library and Culture Animation Center in Poznań account no. 89 1500 1621 1216 2000 8820 0000.
9. Prints submitted for the contest will be evaluated by the jury made up of:
-  Professor Andrzej Florkowski (Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań) (chairman of the Jury)  
- Małgorzata Dołowska (Photoclub Artists Association of the Republic of Poland)
- Heinz Ebert (Germany)
- .................... (Czech Republic)
- Lech Tranda (Unicef PNC)
- Zofia Dulska (Unicef PNC)
- Władysław Nielipiński (Provincial Public Library and Culture Animation Center in Poznań.)
      The Jury’s meeting will be held on 6 May 2008.
10. The winning contestants will receive the following awards: financial (pool of awards: PLN5,000), tangible, and   
         honorary awards. The Grand Prix winner will be awarded an option to set up an individual exhibition in 
        Poznań and other prizes.  The top 3 winners will receive medals from the Photoclub in recognition of artistic
       creation; and all contestants of the exhibition – commemorative diplomas, statutes, and catalogs. The jury
       decides on how the prizes are awarded. Contestants will be informed of the jury’s verdict by e-mail on the
       subsequent day after the decision was reached.
11. A formal announcement of the verdict and a prize giving ceremony will take place on 6 June during the launch
      of the post-contest exhibition in Poznań. A detailed program of the event will be forwarded to contestants
       together with the invitation.
12. Photos which have qualified for the exhibition become organizer’s possession. Unique close-ups made using a traditional technique may be returned to the author at his/her explicit request after a digital copy is made. The copy will continue to be used during subsequent displays of the exhibition as part of the Traveling Gallery of Wielkopolska Photography in different galleries in Poland and internationally.
13. Other works (which did not qualify for the exhibition) will be returned, catalogs dispatched, and prizes which were not collected - forwarded to relevant people by 30 September 2008.
14. In order to popularize the event, the organizer reserves the right to free photo reproduction for the use in the
       catalog and press, on TV and the Internet. Moreover, UNICEF PNC may use photos free of charge for  
       statutory purposes (with no violation of copyright)
15. Use of photos for marketing purposes by sponsors and patrons of the contest is possible after a prior agreement 
       on the conditions with authors of specific photos.
16. Submission of work for the contest shall be deemed equivalent to accepting terms and conditions of the contest
       regulations, as well as granting permission for publishing personal data in line with Personal Data Protection  
       Law dated  28 August 1997 (Journal of Laws, issue 133, item 883.)
