The first one was – ,,Fotografijos slėpiniai I” (“Mysteries of photography I” . This second book is a continuation of the first part, which was published in 2002. Like the first book this book also contains articles, essays, reviews from the past and present Lithuanian photography. This material was published in Lithuanian press or in scientific conferences, also in international seminar of photographers in Nida.

 “History roads” is composed from different chapters. The main aim of this chapter is to try to explain and analise the parts of Lithuanian photography that haven’t been explored yet or has gained too little attetion.

“Lithuanian photography till XXI st century”. This chapter analyses certain peculiarities of Lithuanian photography, also new facts that were never mentioned before, compares it with photography in other countries.

“The route to multicolored  photography”.  This chapter talks not only about multicolored  photography in the works of foreign authors, but also about development of Lithuanian multicoloured photography: starting S. Kolupaila ending with post modern experiments with colour.

“Photography in Samogitian towns and villages”. V. Juodakis was the first one to research photography in Lithuanian regions in his book ,,Lietuvos fotografija iki XX amžiaus” (“Lithuanian photography until XXth century”). Photography in regions became extremely popular after S. Žvirgždas book “Lietuvos miestelių fotografai” (“Photographers of Lithuanian townships”). This article gives new facts from Samogitian region.

”Photographer – image – builder of the town:  past and present”. This article with the help of Kaunas city history analyzes more common questions of Lithuanian photography.

“Photo album in Lithuania: development, types, tendencies”. This is the first attempt ever to study increasing press photography flood in Lithuania

”School of photography”. This topic is very important in Lithuania because only after the gain of independence (1990) teaching of photography art became systematic.

”Vilnius University in pictures”. This article is only a preface to a unique album, which only with the help of photography tells the story of one of the oldest universities in Europe.

”The begining of photojournalism in Lithuania in European background”

”Development of photography in Lithuania and international background”

“Photography of occupation”. This article apart from other things deals with the material that was impossible to work with during Soviet occupation  - exile, guerillas etc

“Passion and beauty in Lithuanian photography”. Taking pictures of nude is one more thing that could not avoid Soviet censorship. This article also reviews history of act photography before the Soviet occupation.

“Lithuanian landscape”. There are many devoted  photographers of this genre in Lithuania (S. Žvirgždas, A. Kunčius and others), there are many popular exhibitions organized and books published on this topic.

“Metamorphoses of a portrait”. Portrait genre is typical for Lithuanian tradition of photography, but during last years it has faced constant changes.


 “Portraits of artists”

“The land of black snowwhites”. This article reviews works of brothers and photographers Algimantas and Mindaugas Černiauskas, which live in countryside and make pictures of it.

“A fresh look at Domicelė Tarabildienė”. This is a history of acts made by famous Lithuanian painter. They were made untill 1940’s and became public only recently.

“Blinded by reality light”. This is another discovery, not known earlier, –  postwar  photography of D. Velička. Pictures come from Veliuona area and Vilnius.

“The ones who can hear the silence of the nature”. This article analyzes work of A. Budvytys.

“In our willage”. This is a presentation of R. Pigagaitė, a graduate of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and her work.

 “A walk to look around and visit streets of Vilnius”. This article reviews one of the most interesting retrospective exhibitions of A. Kunčius about the capital of Lithuania.

“Photography gardener”. This article is a portrait of V. Juodakis, the first Lithuanian historian of photography and a long time professor at Vilnius University, Insititute of journalism.

“B. Buračas – the photographer”. B. Buračas is one of the hardest working Lithuanian photographers: he published albums on art and ethnic photography, wrote books on it, made exhibitions in Lithuania and Germany. This article tries to answer the question – what is his role in today’s Lithuanian photography.

Bułhakas); „Lietuvos peizažai“ (“Lithuanian landscapes”, a photo album by photographer and publisher R. Pak-nys); „Vilnius. Senamiesčio fotografijos“ (“Vilnius.  Pictures of the old town”, a book by K. Stoškus); „Fotosąsiuvinis“ (“Photonotes”, a book from creative photo-grapher from Panevėžys – A. Aleksandravičius”); „Atminties sodai“ (“Memory gar-dens”, selection of R. Požerskis); „Vieškeliais į Juozo Miltinio dramos teatrą“ (“A road to Juozas Miltinis drama theater” – article about the latest books of M. Či-čirkienė and A. Aleksandravičius”).
