Prospekto galerija (Gedimino pr. 43)

Prospekto Galerija presents the Deutsche Vita exhibition, starting Oct. 15: photos from the second half of the Twentiet Century by famous German portrait photographer Stefan Moses. He is know for getting famous people to agree to unconventional poses thanks to his ablity to guide them into an introspective frame of mind forget the photographer’s presence.

He’s guide older eminences into the woods where, ambling among the trees, their social masks fall away, they begin to relax and the chldhood “I” is temporarily rediscovered. Another original series involved getting subjects to photograph their reflections in the mirror while he photographed them. Politicians such as Willy Brant and Konrad Adenaeur, the artist Josep Beuys and writer Gunter Grass have figured in Moses’work. While he is often referred to as the diarist of German society, his photographs are more than simply a chronide – they speak to the soul.
