Igor Savchenko (born in 1962, Minsk) - one of the most famous modern Byelorussian photo artists. He began his creative career in 1988 in Valerii's Lobko's photo studio in Minsk. He belonged to so called representers of the "New wave", who participated in conceptual projects.
In first years of his creative career Igor Savchenko used old photos from family albums. While remaking them, drawing he created new meanings. Later he began to use text next to the picture  as the important accent .
In later works text began to dominate.
In 1997 the artist steped his second stage - he was looking for new forms of expression, mainly audio and video material. Only in 2007 I.Savchenko returned to photography and experimented with old large camer, making positive pictures.
